The National Technical Secretary for the UNSCR2250 (STN-2250) meets with the head of the UN mission in the DRC

Friday, May 28, the National Technical Secretary of the United Nations Security Council 2250 Resolution was invited to a very important meeting at the board of the office of Mrs. Bintou Keita, the UN Chief mission in the Democratic Republic of the Congo /MONUSCO.

During these rich exchanges, the National Technical Secretary for the implementation of the UNSCR 2250 in the RDC, took the opportunity to introduce the National Technical Secretary of the 2250 (STN-2250/RDC) to the MONUSCO board office and exchange on its priority.  

This meeting was an opportunity for the STN-2250/RDC to present itself and its background to the head of the United Nations in the DRC and her team. Mrs. Liliane Lelo, the deputy coordinator, and Mr. Eddy Yav, the spokesperson of the Secretary took the floor to present the achievements of the STN-2250/RDC, the need that brought them to her, as well as the institutions already contacted so far, and which are indispensable for the future of the National Secretary.

Mrs. Bintou Keita, the UN Chief mission, also took this opportunity to thank the STN-2250/RDC members, who had come to meet her. She was accompanied by the Deputy Special Representative, the Director of the UN human rights issues, the head of the peace and security unit of MONUSCO, and his personal assistant Daniel Palmer. In her communication, she wanted the two institutions to first get acquainted and get to know each other. Indeed, all her colleagues each took the floor and expressed their willingness to continue the exchanges with the STN-2250/RDC. In sum, her office showed openness to work hands in hand with the STN-2250/RDC to support them in the implementation of the UNSCR2250 in the RDC. It is significant to note that after this meeting, two other meetings have already been held from June to August to materialize this support in conjunction with other United Nations structures
